Cairo, Egypt, 4-7 April 2004
 The workshop was organized by the NBCBN-RE Secretariat in collaboration with the Hydraulics Research Institute (the Hosting Institution of the Research Cluster) in Cairo , April 2004, under the title of "Second Regional Workshop on Capacity Building in GIS and Modeling Applications in River Engineering" during the period from 4 to 7 April 2004 . The workshop was convened at the Pyramisa Cairo Hotel, Egypt.
The countries participated in this cluster are D.R. Congo, Ethiopia , Kenya , Rwanda , Sudan , Tanzania and Egypt (Host country). The country coordinator of the hosting country is Eng. I brahim El- Desouki, HRI and the scientific advisors Prof. Roland Price, UNESCO-IHE, Dr. Zoltan Vekerdy, ITC, The Netherlands.
