Cairo, Egypt, 9-10 May 2005
 The workshop was organized by the NBCBN-RE Secretariat in collaboration with the Hydraulics Research Institute (the Hosting Institution of the Research Cluster) in Cairo, May 2005, under the title of "Third Regional Workshop on Capacity Building in GIS and Modeling Applications in River Engineering" during the period from 9 to 10 May 2005. The workshop was convened at Nile Valley Hall , Hydraulic Research Inistitute,Cairo,Egypt.
The countries participated in this cluster are D.R. Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Egypt (Host country). The country coordinator of the hosting country is Eng. I brahim El- Desouki, HRI and the scientific advisors Prof. Roland Price, UNESCO-IHE, Dr. Zoltan Vekerdy, ITC, The Netherlands
