The three-day workshop consisted of three focal areas, namely cluster research, Integrated research and Local Action research. The first day and part of the second day focused on the cluster research activities .The majority of the second day was used to discuss Integrated Research topics, and the Local Action Research, including the establishment of the in-country network, was discussed during the third day .this last day was also used to discuss and establish clear arrangements regarding the role of group leaders and coordinators and communication practices, using the NBCBN Collaborative platform.
The main Outputs of the workshop was the identification of the research topics under different NBCBN research modalities:
- Cluster research
- Flood Catchments and Management
- Flood and Drought Forecasting System and Early Warning
Integrated Research
- Integrated Flood and Drought Management for Sustainable Development in the Nile Basin
Local Action
- Capacity Building for Local Communities to Effectively Respond to Floods and Droughts
