Hydropower Research Cluster 18th and 19th January 2007

The university of Dar es Salaam in collaboration with NBCBN-RE,convened a two –days workshop at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania between 18th and 19th January 2007.Since NBCBN-RE projects will focus on joint research activities of different modalities ,this workshop intended to concretize proposals for joint research activities.

As result of the workshop the following are the different developed research proposals:

Cluster research:

1. Development of regional guidelines for mini-hydroplants
2. Special problems of hydropower reservoir in the tropics

Integrated Research

1. Climate Change impacts on flow and hydropower production
2. Sedimentation problems and its influence on hydropower

Local Action

The Study and implementation of a prototype mini-hydropower plant in Tanzania
