Environmental Aspects Research Cluster Kampala 18-20 October ,2006

The 4th regional workshop on capacity building of river engineering was held from 18th to 20th October 2006,Kampala,Uganda.
During the workshop all the objectives mentioned above were discussed in details.and the participants had the following conclusions:

1. Formulation of different research proposals for the cluster and integrated levels of research and selection of research teams.
2. Deciding on the research proposal related to the local action research modality.

The following are the different developed research proposals:

Cluster research

1. Impact Evaluation Tools & Decision Support System for EIA.
2. Applied methodologies and guidelines for carrying out CBA,RA,SEA for the Nile Basin Riparian countries.

• Future Hydropower Scenarios for the Riparian Countries of the Lake Victoria Basin
• Measures for Increased Water Retention Capacity in the Upper Nile Watershed.
