Training Activities
The Training activities receives extra attention through the network development. A distinction is made between training activities offered by the project to enhance the capacity of the NBCBN researchers, and training activities that is initiated by the research clusters themselves and offered as regional courses for a broader group of participants. The following main strategic lines which followed for project support for training activities in the network:
- Support to network members to attend the 3-month diploma course in River and Hydraulic Engineering at the Regional training Centre RTC of the Hydraulics Research Institute HRI (fellowships)
- Organization of short training courses in topics of high interest to the region with the support of other organizations (ATP of NBI, UNESCO-IHE , CapNet, IWRM Nile Net.)
- Organization of Specialized training activities that support the network research activities. During the regional workshops, specified training sessions are programmed.
- Using research outputs in developing specialised training materials
From NBCBN Training Workshops:
- Modelling Tools for Different Aspects of River Engineering (Application of SWAT Model in NBCBN Research Activities)
- Regional Short Course on “Modelling Support to Hydraulic Engineering in River Basin Development”
- Local Action Workshop on “Catchment Water Balance and Water Accounting using GIS and RS Data”
