Eng. Kassana joined NBCBN Since the launch of the Hydropower research Cluster in Tanzania November 2002. He is one of the most active members in NBCBN. He obtained his MSc. (Hydropower) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2002, Postgraduate Diploma (Hydraulic Engineering in River Basins) at the Hydraulics Research Institute (HRI), Egypt in 2003 and his MBA at the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in 2008.

He has vast experience and knowledge in Site Investigations and Hydropower Development & Management. He has authored a numbers of publications in international journals, as well as international conference proceedings. Eng. Kassana now is working as the Associate Director, GTIEA (Greening the Tea Industry In East Africa), Kenya

For his active participation & experience in the field of Hydropower, he was selected as a key-note speaker and main facilitator in the area of “Small Hydropower Development “in NBCBN Joint workshop (Rwanda, Burundi and D.R.Congo) which was held in Kigali, December, 2009
