Eng. Omar joined NBCBN since the launch of the Hydropower research Cluster in Tanzania, November 2002. He is one of the most active members in NBCBN under “Development of Regional Guidelines for Mini-Hydro Plants” research group. Eng. Omar is also a member in the integrated research group working on ” Integrated Flood and Drought Management for Sustainable Development in the Nile Basin, The case of Nzoia and Kagera River Basins”, Kenya and he is one of the most active researchers under the Rwanda local action research group working on “Capacity Building in Engineering works and River Basin Management”..

He has a wide experience in several fields such as Hydrology, Water resources, Surface water hydrology, Watershed management
