Training of trainers on
IWRM as tool for climate change adaptation - acting today; preparing for tomorrow”

It was within the framework of the partnership collaborative programme between Cap-Net/UNDP and APFM/WMO to capacitate water professionals, capacity builders, local authorities and other stakeholders to adapt to changing climatic conditions, the Cap-Net/UNDP, HRI, and APFM/WMO organized a training of trainers’ course on IWRM as Tool for Adaptation to Climate Change - acting today, preparing for tomorrow – " in the period October 20 – 24, 2008, Cairo, Egypt
The aim of this course was to ensure that water managers and local authorities were able to apply sustainable water management principles and instruments to adapt to climate variability manifestations. The immediate objective was to train capacity builders manage and water professionals in IWRM as a tool for adaptation to climate change
The course was hosted by the Hydraulics Research Institute, host and member organisation of NBCBN. The course was part of Cap-Net global programme of action, of which NBCBN is an affiliated regional network. Coordination and content development were the responsibility of a team composed of NBCBN, UNESCO-IHE, WMO/APFM and Cap-Net. The course was intended for a total number of 25 participants from WA-Net, Nile/IWRMnet, NBCBN, Awarenet and WaterNet
