“We believe that this Network in river engineering could be used as pilot network in order to establishing other networks in the various water related fields such as irrigation hydropower, sanitation, etc...The integration among these networks will extremely help in achieving our ultimate goal in sustainable integrated water resources management.

The unprecedented development of information and communication technology (ICT) has made it possible to establish a continuous flux of knowledge and information exchange between professionals from different environments, with different cultural habits to function as collaborative working groups or to share information.
The NBCBN-RE is a platform not only for sustained capacity building but it is also a vehicle for linking people and knowledge promoting shared vision and goals building trust and enhancing co-operation among the Nile Riparian countries.
